Where to celebrate an intimate boda in Ibiza?

03 February 2024

If you’re reading this post, you’re probably planning a small, intimate wedding in Ibiza, wanting to find a special place to celebrate this big day with your closest friends and family. In this post we’ll share a list of perfect restaurants to surprise your guests with their charm and delicious food.

Ibiza has turned into a coveted destination for weddings, especially among Dutch and British couples. From early spring until well into autumn, the island hosts many weddings, so it’s vital that you start preparations as soon as possible as certain churches and restaurants get booked fast. Choosing the venue for the main event is obviously the second most difficult decision after choosing the dress for the bride (or brides). With this list we hope to inspire you and help you find your ideal place among the vast range available in Ibiza.

Restaurants for a small wedding in Ibiza

Intimate destination weddings have become increasingly popular in Spain and other European countries and usually have fewer guests (40-80 guests). They usually last 2 or 3 days, and the couple organises extra events, like a rehearsal dinner or a post-wedding brunch, among other options. At the following venues you’ll find the perfect setting for the feast or cocktail you wish for your wedding in Ibiza.

Cala Gracioneta: “I Do” on the beach

On a small, stunning cove in San Antonio, this boho-chic beach bar is an amazing setting and serves mouth-watering Mediterranean food. A unique place to celebrate a civil ceremony in Ibiza or, if you already got married at the town hall, to offer a symbolic act that will represent you tying the knot. And you can also surprise your guests by arriving to the restaurant by boat. What do you think? Isn’t it a great idea? If so, enquire about this option when you contact Lucy from Mambo Weddings & Events.

Villa Mercedes: A majestic villa for a charming wedding

This restaurant and its garden overlook San Antonio harbour and is in an old villa that was built for summer holidays over a century ago. It has now become one of the most romantic restaurants on the White Island and is the perfect venue to celebrate an intimate wedding in Ibiza. Both the garden and the rooms at Villa Mercedes provide the spaces you need to host the actual ceremony, the feast and the welcome cocktail, as well as the after-dinner party with live music or a DJ.

Sa Capella: a unique setting with centuries of history

This exposed-wall chapel built mid 18th century never got to be consecrated, so it was never used for a Catholic rite. It’s now become a romantic restaurant with garden, the perfect place for a wedding in Ibiza, with beautiful nooks inside and outside. Also, Sa Capella has a select wine list with excellent wines and cavas to drink a toast to the newly-weds.

The best place to start or finish your wedding in Ibiza

The hotel restaurant Hostal La Torre stands on one of the most spectacular spots on the San Antonio coast and is the perfect place to welcome all the guests coming over to Ibiza for your wedding. Its terrace is on a hillside that goes down to the sea and offers a wonderful view of the sunset and the islets of Conillera and s’Illa des Bosc. And all this with Balearic Sound sessions with our resident DJs at the turntables. Alternatively, the terrace can also be ideal for a post-wedding brunch.

Destination wedding in Ibiza: Where to stay

When you’re planning a small, intimate wedding, it’s a great idea to gather all your guests in boutique hotels booked specially for this special occasion, so they’re not all scattered around the island. But it’s best to book early to avoid other people taking up the rooms. Our boutique hotel in San Antonio has 17 junior suites and suites but if you need more, there’s more rooms and suites at our other Calma Hotels: the urban hotel Sa Clau by Mambo on the main avenue in San Antonio, only a few minutes’ walk from Villa Mercedes; and of course, Hostal La Torre and Casa Maca as we already mentioned. And if you’d like to have all your guests stay at the same hotel, book your rooms at Orosol by Mambo, also in the village of San Antonio.

Flowers, photographer, music and more: Do you need a wedding planner in Ibiza?

Once the venues for the ceremony and feast are booked, you need to think about all the other stuff, like hairdresser, flowers, photos and video, transfers, music... If you need help, contact Lucy Dyer from Mambo Weddings who will work closely with you to make your life easier and ensure you also enjoy this demanding but very exciting part of the wedding.

Congratulations! You’re about to experience an amazing wedding in Ibiza that will be remembered forever.
